We have released an alpha version of our new Page Builder. The new Page Builder completely reimagines the page-building experience and adds live-rendered preview thumbnails.

Eventually, the Alpha Page Builder will replace the current editor. In the meantime, if you switch to the Alpha Page Builder, you can easily revert to the Legacy Editor.

The Alpha Page Builder only works with Slice Machine projects, which means that it is compatible with Next.js and Nuxt.

Once you have access to the Alpha Page Builder, your documents will automatically be opened with it.

In order to enable this feature for your content team you will need to do three things:

Install the slice simulator, if you haven't already (instructions for Next.js and Nuxt)

Have a live URL for your website to add in the Page Builder (see below for how to set it up)

Currently, the table of slices on the left-hand side doesn't show any live preview or representation of the slices in my page. To fix this, I'll guide you through the steps of clicking on the combat menu, selecting the live preview settings button, and pasting in the URL for the website. Once we do this, the live preview will work seamlessly across all pages in the repo. So let's get started and make your page building experience even better!

Setting up Live Preview for Table of Slices in New Page Builder 🎥

Hey everyone! In this video, I'll show you a super quick demo on how to access the legacy editor from within the new page builder. It's really simple! Just look for the little kebab menu in the top right-hand corner, click on it, and you'll find the settings options. One of those options is for the legacy editor. Click on that button, and voila! You'll be directed back to the legacy editor where you can make changes. The best part? Everything from your original document is retained. So, if you need to make some tweaks, this is the way to go. No action required from you, just sit back and enjoy the demo!

Rest assured, you won’t lose any of your current work when you upgrade to the new Page Builder. Your existing documents will be available for you to edit in the new Page Builder. Any changes you make in the new Page Builder will persist if you ever revert to the Legacy Editor.

As our first release is an alpha we do not support all the features of the current Page Builder. So, if there is something you want to do using the Legacy Editor you can easily switch back.
